ENT is the study of the ears, nose and throat areas.
Hearing, balance, speech, swallowing, breathing issues, sleep issues, skin disorders, allergies and sinuses are some of the conditions that our specialists see, diagnose and treat.
Our doctors range from highly trained ENT specialists to ENT surgeons. All are experts in this field. You can find out more about our Consultants by visiting the ‘Our Team’ page.
Micro suctioning of wax is performed using a medical suction device and a microscope. The low-pressure suction machine is gently guided into your ear canal and removes stubborn, impacted wax. The build-up of wax could be responsible if you are experiencing;
The removal of the wax is usually a comfortable process and the procedure is undertaken in a few minutes.
The healthcare assistant and the ENT consultant will introduce themselves to you at the beginning of your appointment. The consultant will start by asking you to describe your symptoms, discuss your clinical history and will then proceed to examining your ears, nose or throat.
As part of an ear examination you may be asked to perform simple tasks, such as bending down to touch your toes. Throat exams involve physical touching of the neck area, such as slight pressure applied to the glands in your neck.
Please feel free to ask as many questions as necessary. It is important that you understand the findings of your examination.
After your consultation, the Doctor will dictate a letter. They will explain your symptoms, the findings and the proposed treatment plan. A letter will be sent to your GP within 5 working days.
In instances when a second opinion is required a preliminary letter will be sent to your GP, informing them that they will be receiving a follow up letter.
If, from your consultation, you require treatment which we can perform ourselves such as an MRI scan or fitting of hearing aids, you will be given the option to have the treatment here. Remember this is completely up to you, if you would prefer your treatment to be completed elsewhere it is not a problem.
If we cannot provide the treatment, we will advise your GP where to send your referral. Or, if you have health insurance, we can send the relevant documents to the medical company of your choosing.
If you do not wish to proceed with any treatment, you will be discharged back into the care of your GP.
An initial consultation price starts at around £150.00, however this may vary dependant on the complexity of your symptoms.
For full prices for consultations and treatments contact us.
To book an ENT consultation, you first must request a referral letter from your GP. The letter will clinically explain to us your symptoms, conditions and what type of investigation is required. You can also request a copy of your medical history, if you are unable to do so we can request this on your behalf if you complete a Consent to Access of Medical Records form. After these have been obtained you can contact us via email ( ), phone ( ) or via our website to enquire about an appointment.
Your documents will be passed onto one of our ENT Consultants who will triage your file, at this stage your symptoms will be assessed, as will your suitability for you to attend our clinic (some patients are clinically unsuitable for our clinic and would require procedures to be performed in hospital settings). You will then be contacted to discuss the Consultants recommendations, proposed investigations and cost of the consultation, if you are happy to proceed, our administrator will book an appropriate appointment for you.
